MapleDOE Explorer 2021.1 Installation

Single User License Installation

Follow these instructions for Maple™ Design of Experiments Toolbox 2021.

Pre-Installation Instructions

  1. Check the System Requirements for your operating system.
  1. Log on as an administrator or log on to an account, with appropriate read and write privileges, that will own the MapleDOE Explorer files.
  1. Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft customer service.
  1. Close all programs.

Download and Install MapleDOE Explorer 2021.1

To install MapleDOE Explorer:

  1. Download and double-click the MapleDOEExplorer2021.1WindowsX64Installer.exe file.
  1. Follow onscreen instructions.

MapleDOE Explorer will be installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\MapleDOE Explorer\2021.1

Silent (Unattended) Installation

It is possible to install the network version of MapleDOE Explorer using an unattended mode option. There are two ways to perform an unattended installation of MapleDOE Explorer:

  • Using options specified directly in the command line
  • Using an option file.

Using options specified directly in the command line

You can run an unattended installation without an option file by specifying the installation options directly in the command line. To run the unattended installation this way, do the following:

Windows

  1. Open a command prompt window.
  1. Browse to the directory in which your MapleDOE Explorer install file is located.
  1. Run the unattended installation process using the following syntax MapleDOEExplorer2021.1WindowsX64Installer.exe --option optionvalue. For example, use the command MapleDOEExplorer2021.1WindowsX64Installer.exe --mode unattended to install MapleDOE Explorer in unattended mode.

Using an Option File

Windows

  1. Check the System Requirements for your operating system.
  1. Close all programs, particularly any previous release of MapleDOE Explorer.
  1. Log on as administrator or ensure that you have administrator privileges.
  1. Create an option file.

You can create your own options.txt file using the following example as a template:

  1. Open a command prompt window.
  1. Browse to the directory in which your MapleDOEExplorer2021.1WindowsX64Installer.exe file is located.
  1. Run the silent installation process with the command MapleDOEExplorer2021.1WindowsX64Installer.exe --optionfile <optionfile>, where <optionfile> is the name of the option file.

Note: If you created your option file in a directory other than the directory in which the MapleDOEExplorer2021.1WindowsX64Installer.exe file is located, you must specify the path to the option file when you run this command.

Additional Information

  • You are not provided with any feedback when you run the installer in this mode
  • While you can install the single-user version of MapleDOE Explorer silently, it is not possible to activate the product at this time. After the silent installation of the single user version of MapleDOE Explorer 2021.1 is complete, from the Start menu, select All Programs, then MapleDOE Explorer 2021.1, then Tools and then Activate MapleDOE Explorer 2021.1.

Silently Uninstalling MapleDOE Explorer

  1. To perform a silent uninstallation of MapleDOE Explorer, at a command prompt, run the uninstall command, located in the <MapleDOE Explorer Install Folder>/uninstall directory, as follows:

<MapleDOE Explorer Install Folder>/uninstall/uninstall -- mode unattended

Accessing the MapleDOE Explorer GUI features

To access the MapleDOE Explorer features:

  1. From the Start menu, select MapleDOE Explorer 2021

Select DOE Startup

Accessing MapleDOE Explorer Scripting

To start MapleDOE Explorer scripting:

  1. Start Maple 2021.
  1. At the Maple prompt, enter the command with(MapleDOEExplorer 2021). For more information on this toolbox, enter ?MapleDOEExplorer 2021.

  • Classic Worksheet is not available on this platform.

Excel Requirements

Excel 2013 (updated to latest version), Excel 2016 or Excel 2019.

Note: The architecture of your Excel installation must match the architecture of MapleDOE Explorer that you are installing.

Maple Requirements

Maple 2021.

Notes:

  • MapleDOE Explorer 2021 assumes Maple 2021 is already installed.
  • Maple and Excel need to be closed before installing MapleDOE Explorer.

Model Center Requirements

Phoenix ModelCenter® 11.2 and 12.0

Note: While versions 11.2 and 12.0 are officially supported, other versions of ModelCenter may work as well.

Java Requirements

Oracle® Java® SE Runtime Environment 8.

The latest update of JDK version 8.

Notes:

  • Make sure you have the JDKbin folder in your system Path variable.
  • The JDK installation is required to support the Phoenix ModelCenter interface.
