Exponential Functions
An exponential function is a function of the form fx=c⋅ax, where a>0 and c≠0 are constants. It is common to exclude the case a=1, as then the function reduces to just the constant function fx=c.
The Exponential Function
The exponential function is the function fx=ⅇx, where ⅇ =2.718281828... . This function is also often written as fx=expx, particularly when the argument, x, is a large or complicated expression.
The graph below shows the function y=c⋅ax. Use the sliders to change the values of c and a.
Use the check boxes to select whether integers or general numbers will be used. For comparison, you can also display the graph of y=ⅇx.
