In the Options dialog, the Network tab controls how Maple can access the internet and MapleCloud.

Automatic Check for Updates

  

You can manually check for updates by selecting the Tools>Check for Updates menu item. For details, see Check for Updates.

  

To set this feature to work automatically, select the Check for updates check box in Options dialog.

1. 

Select the Check for updates check box.

2. 

Select the number of days between update checks.

3. 

Click Apply to Session, Apply Globally, or Cancel.

Enable MapleCloud Connection

  

Turn on or turn off your connection to the MapleCloud Content Exchange server. When the connection is turned on, you can use the tools in the MapleCloud window to share worksheet content and to view worksheet content that other users have shared. For more information, see The MapleCloud Content Exchange. You may choose to turn off your connection to save bandwidth.  

  

To turn off your connection to the MapleCloud Content Exchange server:

1. 

Clear the Enable MapleCloud connection check box.

2. 

Click Apply to Session or Apply Globally.

Proxy Server Settings

  

A proxy server acts as an intermediary between your computer and the internet. If you connect to the internet through a proxy server, you must enter your proxy server settings in this section in order for Maple to access the internet.

  

To set your proxy server settings:

1. 

Select the Use proxy server check box.

2. 

Enter the name of the proxy server in the Server text box.

3. 

Enter the proxy server port number in the Port text box.

4. 

If you must log in to your proxy server, do the following:

i. 

Select the Use authentication check box.

ii. 

Enter your login in the User text box.

iii. 

Enter your password in the Password text box.

1. 

Click Apply to Session or Apply Globally.
