User Preferences File for Maple
A users's customized Maple preferences (for example, which palettes are visibile in the left pane and user preferences set through the Options Dialog) are stored in a settings file.
After you install a new version of Maple, when you open it for the first time, it may ask if you want to import your preferences from the prior version of Maple.
This file is distinct from the initialization file a user can create in order to execute a series of commands on startup. That file is described in Create Maple Initialization File.
Tip: These settings are saved in a preferences file. It is usually found here:
Windows:
C:\Users\<User ID>\AppData\Roaming\Maple\<version>\maple.ini.
Mac:
//Users/$USER/Library/Preferences/Maple/<version>/Maple preferences
Linux:
//home/$USER/.maple/<version>/maplerc
