Deleting a CAD File Link

Delete the link to your CAD file to convert all of your CAD subsystems to shared subsystems. This allows you to change the internal components of the component, but breaks the links between the CAD subsystems and your CAD file. This procedure only deletes the link to your CAD file, not the CAD file itself.

Use this procedure only if you are sure you want to convert all of your CAD subsystems to shared subsystems.

To delete your CAD file:

1.

Select the Attached Files tab ( ), and then expand CAD Models.

2.

Right-click on the CAD file you want to open, and then select Delete. Alternatively, select the CAD file and then in the Properties tab ( ) click Delete Attachment ( ).

3.

Click OK.

All instances of your CAD subsystems are converted to shared subsystems in both the Model Workspace and the Hierarchy. The CAD file is deleted from the Attachments > CAD Models. The STL files used to generate the 3-D images of your CAD subsystems are now listed in the Attachments > 3D Images.
