Parameters

Description

The Merged Web Properties record specifies the parameters that define the mechanics of the web and its visualization.

Usage

A Merged Web Properties record defines the properties of the merged web based on law of mixtures. The Merged Web Properties record uses information from other Web Properties records.

Example:

A Merged Web Properties record is used the same way as a Web Properties record.

Example:

Equations

The merged web properties are calculated according to the following equations:

Thickness:

thout=cri=1nthi

where subscript out is for the merged web, index i is for the i-th incoming web, cr  is the compression ratio, and 2n10 is the number of merging webs.

Density:

ρout=i=1nthiρicri=1nthi

Modulus of Elasticity (assuming all webs have the same width):

Eout=i=1nthiEii=1nthi

Poisson's ratio (assuming all webs have the same width):

νout=i=1nthiνii=1nthi

Damping ratio:

drout=1ni=1ndri
