Adding a Shape to a Model

To add a shape to a model

1. 

Do one of the following:

• 

To draw a rectangle, from the toolbar, click the  tool from the Annotations toolbar.

• 

To draw an oval, from the toolbar, click the  tool.

  

Tip: For both the rectangle and oval tools,

– 

Click once on the toolbar icon to insert that type of object into the drawing. The tool is activated. For example, .

– 

Click twice on the toolbar icon to insert multiple objects of the same type without having to reselect the tool. The icon is highlighted yellow. For example, . The tool remains activated until you select another toolbar icon.

2. 

(Optional) To select a color for the outline, click the drawing outline tool ( ) and select a color using a color selection tool.

3. 

(Optional) To select a gradient fill for the shape, click the fill tool ( ) and select a fill option.

If you want to select the range of gradient fill colors, click the rectangles below the fill options and select the colors using a color selection tool:

    

4. 

(Optional) From the line menu ( ), select a style and thickness for the shape outline.

5. 

To draw the shape, click and drag your mouse pointer in the Model Workspace.

6. 

When the shape is the size that you want, release your mouse button.
