Updating Libraries Created in MapleSim 6.4 or Earlier

In MapleSim 7, custom libraries underwent a major update.  If you created a custom library in MapleSim 6.4 or earlier, you must convert it to the new format to use it in MapleSim 7 or later.

To convert a library for use in MapleSim 7 or later:

1.

Open a custom library (.msimlib file) created in MapleSim 6.4 or ealier.
On Windows, for example, the former default save location for custom libraries was C:\Users\<name>\AppData\Roaming\MapleSim\<version>\Modelica Libraries
On Macintosh, the default save location was
<name>/Library/Preferences/MapleSim/<version>/Modelica Libraries
On Linux, the default save location was
<name>/.MapleSim/<version>/Modelica Libraries

A dialog asks: "Do you want to convert this library to the new format?"

2.

Click Yes.  The Create Library dialog appears.

3.

Under Package enter a name for the library.  The name must be unique and cannot contain spaces.  No other user library or Modelica-imported library can share the package name.

4.

Optionally, enter a description.  The Location field indicates the directory in which the library is saved.  (This is not editable.  To change the save location, see the note on Creating a Custom Library.)

5.

Click OK.  A custom palette with the specified name appears in the Library Components tab ( ). This palette will appear in the window the next time you start MapleSim.  Custom palettes are indicated with an icon:
