Choosing a 3-D Visualization Color
You can set the color of a 3-D model in the 3-D Playback Window. This is useful when you overlay two or more simulation results in the 3-D Playback Window because it lets you easily distinguish the results from different simulations. In order to set the color for a visualization, the simulation result must have a visualization color chosen and the 3-D visualization color option must be applied to the result.
To choose a 3-D visualization color for a stored result:
Click Show Simulation Results ( or ).
In the Stored Results palette of the Simulation Results tab, right-click (Control-click for Mac) on a result, select Choose 3-D Visualization Color, and then choose a color for the visualization.
The color you chose is overlaid on the result. A legend in the upper left-hand corner of the 3-D Playback Window indicates which color pertains to which stored result.
If the color you selected is not overlaid on the simulation result (that is, there is no color associated with the result in the 3-D Playback Window legend), you must apply the 3-D visualization color option to the result.
To apply a 3-D visualization color:
In the Stored Results palette of the Simulation Results tab, right-click (Control-click for Mac) on a result.
Select Apply 3-D Visualization Color.
Notes:
If Apply 3-D Visualization is not selected, the components in the visualization will have their default colors.
If you don't see the legend in the upper left-hand corner, click Change 3-D Settings ( ) and then select Show Legend.
When the animation is stopped, you can place your mouse over one of the results in the 3-D Playback Window to see a tooltip with the name of the result.
Only visible results are shown in the 3-D Playback Window. See Viewing Stored Simulation Results for information on setting the visibility of a simulation result.
