Maple provides a default start page that contains shortcuts to key topics. You can customize this start page or use a different start page.

Turning the Default Start Page On

The Standard Maple interface contains a built-in start page, which is displayed by default when you open an instance of Maple.

If the built-in default start page is not displayed on start up, you can turn it on by performing the following steps:

1. 

Open the Options Dialog.

2. 

Click the Interface tab.

3. 

From the Open worksheet at startup list, select Default home page.

4. 

Click Apply Globally.

If you want Maple to open a blank worksheet on start up, you can turn off the default start page by checking the Don't show this page on start-up check box, or by performing the following steps:

1. 

Open the Options Dialog.

2. 

Click the Interface tab.

3. 

From the Open worksheet at startup list, select New, blank.

4. 

Click Apply Globally.

Customizing Your Maple Start Page

Using a Different Maple Worksheet as Your Start Page

To replace the default start page with a different Maple worksheet (.mw, .mws, or .mwz file), perform the following steps:

1. 

Open the Options Dialog.

2. 

Click the Interface tab.

3. 

From the Open worksheet at startup list, select Specified Worksheet.

4. 

In the Open window, browse to the location of the Maple worksheet you want to use as your start page and select that file.

5. 

Click Open.

6. 

Click Apply Globally.

Customizing the Default Maple Start Page

You can use the default start page as a template for a new start page. Whether you want to remove or modify existing shortcuts, add images, other components, etc., you can customize the default start page by performing the following steps:

1. 

Open the default start page.

2. 

Make any desired modifications to the Start page.

3. 

Use File > Save As... to rename the file and save your modifications to the Start page.

4. 

Follow the instructions in the previous section Using a Different Maple Worksheet as Your Start Page to use this page as your start page.

  

Note: You can always go to your start page by clicking the Open the start page icon ( ) on the Maple toolbar.
