Turning Off the Snap to Grid Option to Align Objects Between Gridlines

By default, the edges of shapes, lines, or modeling components are aligned with gridlines when you drag them in the Model Workspace. You can turn off the snap-to-grid option to allow the edges of dragged objects to be positioned at precise points between the gridlines.

To turn off the Snap to Grid option

•

In the Model Workspace Toolbar, click Snap to Grid ( ).

•

Select Snap to Grid again.

Note: The Model Workspace toolbar also contains an Allow Connecting to Ports option ( ). This lets you toggle between a mode allowing connecting to ports, and one in which you can lay out subsystem ports in the Model Workspace. When this option is turned off, connection lines cannot be drawn between components.
