Saving and Applying Parameter Sets

Parameter sets let you save, reuse, and compare different sets of values for the same model displayed in the workspace. At any time you can easily apply and run different simulations, saving new values for each application.

Note: Overridden parameters and/or initial condition values are not saved in the parameter set. To save overridden parameters and/or initial condition values, set the Initial Conditions to Ignore. An alternative is to first parameterize the value assigned to an initial condition and then store the parameter set.

To store the current parameters as a parameter set from the Parameter Sets palette:

1.

Set the component values for the model in the workspace.

2.

From the Attached Files tab ( ), right-click (Control-click for Mac) Parameter Sets, and then select Store Current Parameters. The Store Current Parameters dialog box appears.

3.

Enter a unique name.

4.

Click OK. The parameters for the current model are saved and added to the list.

To store a parameter set from the Simulation Results tab:

1.

In the Simulation Results tab, select the desired entry in the Stored Results palette.

2.

Click Extract Result Parameters ( ).
Alternatively, right-click (Control-click for Macintosh) on the desired entry in the Stored Results palette and select Extract Parameters.

3.

Click OK. The parameters are stored using the name in the Stored Results palette as the name of the parameter set.

To apply a parameter set from the Parameter Sets palette:

1.

From the Attached Files tab ( ), expand Parameter Sets and right-click on a set of values. The Parameter Set context menu appears.

2.

Select Use. A confirmation window appears.

3.

Click OK to accept the current values or Cancel to make another selection. A check mark appears beside the selected set of values. To undo the application of a parameter set click Don't use in simulation ( ) in the Properties tab.

To apply a parameter set from the Properties tab:

1.

From the Attached Files tab ( ), expand Parameter Sets and click on a set of values.

2.

From the Properties tab ( ), click Use ( ) to accept the new values. A confirmation window appears.

3.

Click OK to accept the current values or Cancel to make another selection. A check mark appears beside the selected set of values in the Parameter Sets palette.  To undo the application of a parameter set click Don't use in simulation ( ).

Note: You cannot modify and save an existing parameter set without deleting, renaming, or creating a new one.
