Adding Multiple Copies of Subsystems or Custom Components to a Model
If you plan to add multiple copies of a subsystem to a model and want all of the copies to have the same configuration, create a subsystem definition. See Converting a Subsystem into a Shared Subsystem.
If your model contains a subsystem definition or custom component, you can add multiple copies of that subsystem or custom component to your model from the Local Components tab ( ).
To add multiple subsystem or custom component copies to your model:
From the Local Components tab ( ), drag a subsystem or custom component definition icon into the model workspace. A unique subscript number is appended to the name of each copy that you add.
It is also possible to have multiple copies of a subsystem in a model that don't share a subsystem definition. These are called standalone subsystems.
For more information about shared subsystems and standalone subsystems, see Creating and Managing Subsystems in Chapter 2 of the MapleSim User's Guide.
