Duplicating an Entry in the Local Components Tab
When you convert a subsystem into a shared subsystem or generate a custom component, a subsystem or custom component definition entry appears in the Components palette of the Local Components tab ( ). You can duplicate the entry within the Local Components tab and then drag the new subsystem or custom component definition icon into your model. You can then edit the shared subsystem or custom component without affecting other subsystems or custom components because the new shared subsystem or custom component is not linked to the original definition.
For more information about editing and working with shared subsystems, see Creating Subsystem Definitions in Chapter 2 of the MapleSim User's Guide.
To duplicate an entry:
In the Local Components tab ( ), right-click (Control-click for Mac) a subsystem or custom component entry that you want to duplicate. The context menu appears.
Select Duplicate.
In the Component Name dialog box, enter a unique name for the entry.
Click OK. Another subsystem or custom component definition entry is displayed in the Local Components tab. You can now drag the new subsystem or custom component definition entry into the Model Workspace and edit the shared subsystem or custom component without affecting corresponding copies that are already in the Model Workspace.
