Zoom into a Plot Region (2-D Plots Only)
Using a click-and-drag operation, you can select the precise horizontal and vertical plot ranges that you want to zoom into. This is sometimes called rubber-band zooming. You can use this zoom action on 2-D plots when you are in either Point Probe or Zoom In mode.
Click the plot to select it, and then click either Point Probe ( ) or Zoom in ( ).
In Point Probe mode, press the Shift key and simultaneously drag the cursor across the plotting region you want to explore, creating a rectangle around the region. In Zoom In mode, you do not need to press the Shift key while you drag the cursor.
The plot is transformed from the old range to the new range. To zoom into the plot further, repeat steps 1 and 2.
Use Zoom Out mode to see more of your plot. Each time you zoom out, the plot ranges are increased by a fixed amount.
To zoom out from a plot:
Select your plot, and then click Zoom out ( ).
Either click on your plot or click Zoom out.
In Scale mode you control how much to zoom into or out from a plot by using the wheel button on your mouse.
To scale a plot:
Select your plot and then click either Zoom in ( ) or Zoom out ( ).
Place your pointer on the plot and then rotate the wheel button to scale your plot.
Note: For 3-D plots, you can also place your pointer on the plot and then drag your pointer to the top or bottom of the plot window to zoom in or out.
To cancel your zoom actions, you can either return to the default (that is, original) plot view or you can undo your last zoom action.
