Renaming a Custom Component

A custom component is named in the custom component template that defines the component. You can rename a custom component from within MapleSim.

To rename a custom component:

1.

Select the Local Components tab ( ).

2.

In the Components or Hierarchy palette, right-click (Control-click for Mac) the custom component and select Rename.

3.

Specify a new name and click OK.

Notes

•

You must specify a unique name for each component.

•

The new name is propagated to the custom component template that defines the component.

•

This procedure changes the name of the custom component definition only; it does not change the name of an instance of the component in the model. If you want to rename an instance of the custom component in the model workspace, select the custom component in the model workspace, and enter a new name in the Properties tab ( ).
