Export to PDF Format (Windows and Linux)
By selecting Encoding, you can open Maple worksheets created in different languages containing non-ASCII characters, for example, Cyrillic or Chinese. Character sets are sorted by locale name and then by operating system. The encoding feature allows the Standard Worksheet to read .mws files created on international platforms.
Note: This procedure is not necessary for Japanese language worksheets, although Japanese fonts must be installed on your machine.
To load an international worksheet:
From the Classic Worksheet (.mws) drop-down list, select the most probable encoding match.
Or if your document is in a format such as HTML, plain text, Maple text, Maplet, or RTF export, from the Other formats drop-down list, select the most probable encoding match.
For example, for a Russian language worksheet on a Mac platform, select Cyrillic(MacCyrillic).
Click Apply to Session, Apply Globally, or Cancel.
Open the Russian language worksheet. Text appears in Cyrillic.
If some text appears as empty boxes, this indicates that a font is missing from your system.
Find and download this font from your favorite source or simply select the text (empty boxes) in question and then select a font from the Maple worksheet font drop-down list, such as Default or Lucida Sans. The empty boxes are converted to proper Cyrillic text.
Control the image format used for plots when exporting to LaTeX by selecting one of the two options: Export plots to PNG or Export plots to EPS. The default is to export plots as PNG files.
The default setting is the article document class. See Export to LaTeX for more information.
The export options for LaTeX can be managed to support the LaTeX CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) package. Select the desired LaTeX class for the exported file from the options article, jarticle, and ctexart. Check the box for CJK package support.
Change export options to control layout when exporting a Maple worksheet to LaTeX or as HTML.
Enter the Math linebreaking width for aligning multi-line displayed formulas. Select inches or cm units. The default is 6 inches.
Change export options to control file size and graphic quality when exporting a Maple worksheet to PDF.
You can export text in a graphical form (suitable for publication), or as text with the appropriate font specification, which offers smaller file size and searchable text when using a PDF reader that supports that feature. Export using text for searchable text and smaller file size is the default setting.
To export text in graphical form suitable for publication:
Select the Export using shapes for greater fidelity radio button.
