Description
Introduces the theory and components of radar systems, particularly radar on the ground that detects moving aircraft. Individual chapters describe the function of transmitters, antennae, receivers, matched filters, and signal processors. In addition to amplitude and phase graphs, three-dimensional space curves are shown which emphasize the vector relationships involved. The author notes the importance of low attenuation and reflection between main radio frequency blocks, including the use of oversized waveguides for long runs. The closing chapters review the relevant mathematics of statistics and transforms. An appendix provides tapering functions.Book News, Inc.®, Portland, OR
