Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Furnace – Multibody, Multi-Domain Physical Model in MapleSim – Maplesoft

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Furnace

Some industrial ovens require careful control of the temperature.  A thermostat controller relies on variations in temperature, which would not be desirable. A Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller pulses the heater on and off with varying durations, depending on the output of a PID controller. This way, the temperature can be accurately controlled.
