This model simulates the effects of EPS on vehicle weaving maneuver. The EPS assistive torque is provided by a DC motor, which is based on a "boost curve" that calculates the EPS current using a lookup table. The friction in the rack-and-pinion gear is modeled using Jenkin's hysteresis model which is able to switch between a rising and falling branch when a reversal point occurs. The vehicle chassis includes a double wishbone front suspension, a rear trailing arm suspension, a steering column, and 3D bushings at suspension-vehicle body hard-point locations. The rotation of the steering wheel is converted into the displacement of the steering rod through the rack-and-pinion gear. The model uses a Fiala tire to model the tire/contact patch interaction.
