Mechanical clocks show time using gears, without any electrical source involved. Springs and weights generate the required energy for mechanical clocks to operate. Pendulum controls the speeds of the gears to be always at the right pace, while the escapement component releases the gears one tooth at a time, at each swing of the pendulum and ensures time goes second by second. A mechanical clock is modeled in MapleSim using components from the Multibody and 1D mechanical library. The simulation runs for one minute.
